Quilting Project

I have been working on a quilt since 2011. It is a project I began in November that year and ever since have been coming back to it little by little and adding onto it. I began with only the fabric and left over stuffing from a school pillow making project in family studies class for junior high. I loved this little fabric shop near my grandmother's house in the valley and looking at all the patterns makes it almost impossible to choose the right one for yourself that you will continue to love down the road. However, I am quite satisfied with the purple flowery fabric younger me has chosen to make the colourful splotches that I presume are trees or bushes.

(photo I took of the quilt after it has been folded in my closet for a while)

I cut out these round shapes and stuffed them to give the quilt a 3-D dimension off the rolling hills of green fabric. The design is very simply one I sketched out on paper before sewing it all by hand (I am not great at using a sewing machine even if ours was functioning properly). However, with anything else in life, distractions and other projects arose, so this one got a bit neglected. I only added the blue background for the sky piece in recent years. Having come across it once again, I wanted to share this little fun project with anyone who also enjoys arts and crafts hobbies.

I am hoping to get some more baton to stuff inside and put on the backing piece, which I have yet to purchase. Happy quilting!

Update: I have finished this quilt with the final purple backing similar to the front shrubbery fabric as of June 2025.
