Poetry Collections

Spoken Waves
A collection of free verse poems that offer an exploration of words, cycles, and relationships. The poems bring together observations of water, light, and dark imagery interspersed with playful use of language. They draw on life experiences in Nova Scotia with a stir of creativity.

Living in the Annapolis Valley, home to the highest tides in the world was a main source of inspiration for many of the beach-themed poems within this collection. Being an English Major, and having a fascination for words and the breakdown of words spurred the creation of the rest of the poems. combined, these two themes brought about a sort of self-reflection on time, cycles, and perspective.

Patches of Sunlight
A collection of free verse and shape poetry surrounding the emergence from a dark time and reigniting life passions while lingering memories both hold us back and propel us forward towards our goals. The collection mirrors our life journeys using contrasting stillness and movement, colour and shadow, floral and fire, and dark and light imagery.

This collection includes complimentary images to go along with many of the short poems. It is also sorted into chapter headings: "Shadow", "Reflection", and "Light". These poems were mostly written out of appreciation of everything around me, taking note of the past, and moving forward, while appreciating the present. This was an up close study of nature and how we view the world around us.
